It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Boston for the 2018 edition of the Dynamic Languages Symposium! This year’s symposium – the 14th in the se- ries – continues the tradition of communicating research results in the design, implementation, and application of dynamic languages.

We are happy that high quality research around dynamic languages continues. Out of a total of 20 submissions, the program committee accepted 8 papers whose topics range from semantics and formalism, over optimization and compilation of systems and languages, to research into full programming systems.

This year, each paper received a minimum of 3 reviews and 4 papers received a second round of reviews after substantial updates in response to reviewer comments were made to the papers.

Beyond the formal program, we hope this year’s DLS will, like its predecessors, be a valuable forum for sharing ideas with other dynamic language researchers and practitioners from institutions around the world. Thank you for being part of this exciting community, and once again, welcome!

We warmly thank the Program Committee, the SPLASH organization, the authors, and, last but not least, the audience.
